Toothsome Maple Journal
These journals are covered with light and warm, yet dense maple boards with blank pages. The sewn binding includes a duo-tone pattern with cotton embroidery thread to create the 2-needle Coptic stitch, which allows all of the pages to lie completely flat.
After purchasing boards from Danby Hardwoods, I drill holes along the spine, sand and lightly finish the wood with polyurethane to bring out the rich tones and protect the covers. Then I cut, fold, and punch holes into the pages and sew the book together.
