Coptic Journal
This hardcover book features handmade elements with as many recycled and sustainably-sourced materials as possible. The style of binding is called the Coptic, featuring hard covers, exposed handsewn stitching, and handmade paper covers. This journal is especially useful because it can lie flat when open.
The paper for the covers was produced from cotton rag material by Nathan Lewis in Trumansburg, NY. The binders' board and paper are both made from 100% recycled materials. The thread was purchased from Sew Green, a fiber thrift store in Ithaca, NY.
